Senate Bill 78 as introduced and as amended and reported by the Committee on Governmental Affairs creates the 22 member Alabama Council on Advanced Technology and Artificial Intelligence to review and advise the Governor and Legislature on the development of technology and artificial intelligence. This would increase the obligations of (1) the State General Fund by an estimated $150 per legislator per meeting to reimburse the member for their per diem and travel expenses; and (2) funds of the council by an estimated $150 per person per meeting to reimburse other members for expenses in the performance of their duties.
