Senate Bill 9 as introduced will increase the administrative obligations of the Alabama Department of Labor and the Office of the Attorney General, by an undetermined amount, to publish guidelines for employees with regard to the provisions of this bill. This bill will not otherwise affect state or local funding.
As substituted and reported by the Committee on Finance and Taxation General Fund, this bill removes the requirement for the Department of Labor and the Office of the Attorney General to publish guidelines and increases the administrative obligations of the Department of Labor to adjudicate medical or religious exemptions for employees that have been terminated if the employee refuses a COVID-19 vaccine.
