To allow the Legislature to appropriate Public School Funds to local boards of education in the Education Trust Fund Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2011 for the purpose of paying operating expenses; and to allow local boards of education, during fiscal year 2011 only, to expend Public School Funds on any operating expenses.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the Legislature may appropriate funds from the Public School Fund to local boards of education in the Education Trust Fund Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2011 for the purpose of paying operating expenses.
Section 2. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, local boards of education, during fiscal year 2011 only, may expend Public School Funds on any operating expenses.
Section 3. This act shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
