SYNOPSIS:This bill would provide that any teacher who has taught for a period of 30 years or more and who leaves employment as a teacher does not need to be recertified when the teacher is reemployed as a teacher.

TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To provide that any teacher who has taught for a period of 30 years or more and who leaves employment as a teacher does not need to be recertified when the teacher is reemployed as a teacher.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1. Notwithstanding any other law or rule to the contrary, any teacher who has taught for a period of 30 years or more and who leaves employment as a teacher does not need to be recertified when the teacher is reemployed as a teacher.

Section 2. This act shall become effective on the first day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
